Summer Campers return!

12 campers returned to KADEP last Friday! They enjoyed a three day trip to Wilderness on Wheels. They experienced tent camping, cook outs, sing-a-longs, hiking, and most popular-fishing! They caught about 20 fish!

Thank you to KADEP staff Chris, Brittany and Kaitlyn for leading a fun adventurous camping trip. Also a special thanks to the volunteers who made the trip a blast!

KADEP staff get together

KADEP staff get together for a hike and BBQ. It was a beautiful day enjoyed at Ginny and Gary's cabin in Bailey, CO!

Donations needed!

KADEP is in need of acrylic paints and paint brushes.

We offer many craft groups each day and are running low on acrylic paints.

We could use basic colors or metallics.

We are also in need of a variety of paintbrushes.

Any help with these items would be greatly appreciated

4th of July Celebration

KADEP celebrated our nation's Independence on Thursday, July 2nd. We had a BBQ on the deck, watermelon seed spitting contest, water fight, wheelchair and walker decorating, and an ice cream social. The pictures show how much fun we had!

KADEP therapy dog, Dare, will be featured on 9 News at 10:00 pm on Friday, 6-26-09!

Dare is a star around the Denver community.

Some of the filming of Dare's story was taken right at KADEP and shadowed Dare interacting with participants.

Volunteers needed!

We need your help!
We are looking for fun, energetic volunteers to help run a "casino game" table at the Summer Bash!
When? Saturday, August 29, 2009 9:30-12:30pm
Who? Volunteers who are willing to run a Casino Game table (ie: poker, roulette, etc)
Where? KADEP
What? Morning activity-Casino games will be open to all clients and family from 10:00-12:00.

Please contact Brittany Jones bjones@mscenter.org if you are willing to help on Saturday. Other volunteer opportunities are available if you can not lead a casino game.

The Big Bash will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 10:00- 3:00

1:30-3:00- The Shake Band (bring your own lawn chairs)

Summer Camping Trip

Summer Camping Trip- July 22-24!

We will be going to Wilderness on Wheels Campground off of Highway 285 (60 miles southwest of Denver/20 miles west of Pine Junction). We will be staying in wooden shelters and tents outside. Wilderness on Wheels Campground is extremely wheelchair-accessible with boardwalks all around the facility. Depending on the weather, we will enjoy hiking, fishing and laser tag as well as just good old outdoor relaxation.

• The camping trip is scheduled for July 22nd, 23rd and 24th. The price of the trip is $75. If you are interested please sign up at Dot’s desk.

Former KADEP staff member, Kyle Rigpa Ducan, recently completed the next step in his nursing career.

• Kyle attended Concorde Career College Specializing in Healthcare Training. Kyle is now a Liscensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

• The Practical Nursing Pinning Ceremony was held on May 30, 2009.

• Kyle's graduating class elected him as Class Delegate.

• Congratulations, Kyle. We are proud of you and wish you the best in your continued nursing career!

Space Marine Boot Camp!
