KADEP staff member, Beth, leads the Women on Weights group.  This group of women work on endurance, strength training and resistance training.

KADEP would like to thank our friendly, lovable maintenance man, Gary Wagner, for all his hard work.  Gary has been working hard day in and out since last spring, making our new home as beautiful as it is now!  He has even managed to keep a smile on his face this whole time.  Thank you for your dedication!

KADEP visits Touch Em Up Boxing Gym

The KADEP Boxing class paid a visit to Heavy Weight Champ, DaVarryl Williamson, at his gym called "Touch Em Up Boxing."

KADEP Enterprise Group needs your help

KADEP ENTERPRISES NEEDS EBAY AUCTION ITEMS—AND IDEAS!


The KADEP Enterprises class is exploring small business ventures to earn money for KADEP programs. Our first venture is to auction items on ebay.We are looking for new or like new donated items such as electronics and jewelry that are easy to ship and valued at $25 or more. We are also interested in:

•Entertainment and sports memorabilia and tickets
•Travel and vacation packages
•Antiques, coins and vintage collectibles
•Cars, boats and RVs
•Unique Experiences (Lunch with Gov. Hickenlooper? Spa day for five?)

AND we want your ideas for other possible KADEP Enterprises earned income opportunities. Some ideas we’ve already generated are:

•Weekend and evening classes for the community
•Community gardens, specialty nursery and other horticulture projects
•Craft sales/farmers’ market
•Online or retail thrift store

Happy Valentine's Day!  Each KADEP participant received a Valentine card, a carnation, and homemade cupcake from the KADEP staff.

We have had our fair share of snow and cold weather this winter.

We have had snowdays and potential snowdays.

Spring Camping Trip

It is time to sign up for the spring camping trip!



We will be going to Golden Bell Camp Center (45 minutes west of Colorado Springs). We will be staying in a lodge and hot meals will be provided. Because it may still be cold and snowy, our activities will be based on the weather. At the very least, we will enjoy Golden Bell’s indoor gym and game room. We are tentatively planning on visiting the Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy and the United States Olympic Training Center.

The camping trip is scheduled for March 23rd through March 25th. The price of the trip is $110. Please sign up by Sharon’s desk (ie. near KADEP’s front entrance). If you have any questions feel free to ask Chris Dunbar. Please sign up by Feb. 11th.

A Quilt For All To Enjoy

KADEP has an activity group that will be making their own quilts and also a quilt for KADEP.  "A Quilt For All To Enjoy" group is in need of fabric.  We are looking for donations of any cotton fabric.  The donations will be greatly appreciated and will help us achieve our goals of quilting.

2011 Colorado Garden and Home Show

KADEP is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of a 2011 Colorado Garden and Home Show grant. We are very much looking forward to working on our new garden project in Spring of 2011.


This year's event will be held at the Convention Center in Denver on February 12th-20th.
Funds received from this event go directly to organizations like KADEP.

Holiday Party Recap

Thank you to all the KADEP participants and families for attending KADEP's Holiday Party.  It was the first party in our new gymnasium, and it rocked!

The afternoon started with cakes, goodies, and punch. (Donations made by the Rocky Mountain MS Center Guild, United Seating & Mobility, and other individuals who brought treats).  We ate, drank and danced our way through the afternoon with amazing entertainment by "Dressed In Black." 

Santa also visited KADEP and handed out gifts purchased by generous individuals who supported the KADEP Giving Tree.

Thank you to all volunteers, donors, families, and friends of KADEP for another successful Holiday Party!
