Thank you Dolores!

We would like to thank KADEP client, Dolores Howard, for donating her time and talents to sew much needed "extended napkins" for the clients at lunch time.

Dolores's sewing and needlework talents have been evident through many years at KADEP. She often makes covers for catheter bags, water bottle holders, extended napkins for the kitchen, and helps clients sew on buttons.

Thank you Dolores!!

Farewell Interns

The Intern Farewell will be Friday 12-12-08 at 1:30

We have been lucky to have four great therapeutic recreation interns this semester. Traci, Maritza, BJ, and Jun have been at KADEP for 16 weeks, leading groups, getting to know the clients, and hopefully taking away a great experience.

We also were blessed to have Amy Rogge, Occupational Therapy student, from Creighton University. Amy was with us for 10 weeks and led the Women's and Men's Sexuality classes.

Thank you all for your hard work. We will truly miss each of you! Congratulations on finishing your degree and good luck in your future career!

Creativity in Poetry Class

The following excerpts came from Carole's Tuesday Morning Poetry class:

Reynel-Every thing's so cold at home. I will squirm away so I can play with him.
Nancy- Deeply involved in a story with a picture. He went to the stream every morning. Later on in his life he got married.
Diane- Saliently bring fragrant tapestry which gave an influence for hot torpid romance.
Adriane-The individual man could follow poetry present.
Phyllis-Yet I watch why would any life surround and embrace this season gorgeous green summer afternoon landscape ogle delirious change.
Michael A-God pours down his love like honey. Down my back, like honey over my morning toast. Hidden like diamonds inside a chute of coal; The moon floating in a bright sea or stars.
Ericka- Only the lonely have no fears or tears. Life's too short. Because God loves us all. Never have fear because God and Christ and angels are with you'll always, you and us. Worship every single moment.
Desire chocolate, healthy candies too. Make your hearts on fire with nuts and protein.

Therapy Dogs @ KADEP

Every Tuesday we have a special visit from our Therapy dogs, Dare and Rigby. We love when they come because they are always happy and easy going. They share unconditional love with our clients and are always a treat to see :)

Dare was born with four legs, but it is believed that his mother bit off two of his legs when he was just a puppy. His two legs have always compensated for the other two that are missing.

The picture on top is DARE and his owner, and right below is Rigby and his owner, as well as one of our clients, Brenda Smith.
