Looking for Scholarship Assistance

We are looking for scholarship assistance for two KADEP participants to go on the next Adventure Recreation Trip.  We will be traveling to Crested Butte and working with adaptive sports center ski team.  The cost for each participant is $135.00, but anything will help!

Halloween Party

Come dressed in your best Halloween costume Thursday!

We will be celebrating with themed activities and a haunted house.

It is going to be a spooky good time

KADEP Concert

On Tuesday a talented musician come in and played a private concert for us. Mark, the musician, took requests for the audience and played a lot of classics.

Future Weather

Winter is upon us.  Colorado weather can be sporadic and unpredictable.  Occasionally KADEP will close if the weather is bad and we feel it is unsafe for the participants and staff to come to the program.

Typically, if Denver Public Schools or Adams County Schools are closed, KADEP will be closed.

You should always call KADEP's main # and listen for the recording.  303-433-6887

We will also notify 9news station if KADEP is closed.

We will update the Blog first thing in the morning if we are closed.

It is best to call or check the blog for closures.

RTD Outing

The Superheroes group enjoyed an outing yesterday to Mile High Comics.
Everyone who went was amazed with the size of this building, the large selection, and the friendly staff!

Oktoberfest

 KADEP celebrates Oktoberfest is style!

We had Tom Allen who played the accordion and told us about the history of Oktoberfest

 

There was German dancing

 

German lunch featuring bratwursts and potato salad

 

Oktoberfest style fitness

The contest consisted of seeing who could hold out pitchers for the longest amount of time.

 The winner was Gabe with 6 mins & 25 secs

Ryan came in 2nd with 5 mins & 15 secs

Third was Snooky with 4 mins & 47 secs

 

In the afternoon activities included:

Cooking group making pretzels and cheese dip

 

Decorating mugs

 

And Oktoberfest trivia

Halloween Helpers

KADEP is putting on a haunted house on Halloween for the clients.

Staff Recognition

Recently on the Today Show they talked about the Top Ten College Majors for having a Lucrative Career.

Therapeutic Recreation was listed as #4! Congrats to the all the CTRSs on staff: Claire, John, Kyle, Michelle, Kelsey, Donna, Makena, and Ginny. Also the four current TR Interns!

Nursing was listed as #2!! Congrats to our nursing staff: Michaela, Wendy, Mylinda, Carole, and Maria.

KADEP would not run without our qualified and caring staff. Thank you everyone on the team!

Happy October

The leaves are changing, its getting cold outside, everyone is picking out Halloween costumes....
