KADEP Capital Campaign!
We have officially launched the KADEP Capital Campaign!
Through the course of many zoning meetings, and thanks to the dedication of MS Center Board Member, Adam Writer, the Adams County School District has recognized KADEP as a welcome neighbor. Our new home, formerly the Vista Grande Elementary School at 8845 Wagner Street (near 88th and Sheridan), is the original building we fell in love with a year ago.
Today, I am asking for your financial support to keep this outstanding program alive. We need your help now more than ever as we relocate to the new space! Though we have received generous funding from several foundations, including our namesake, the Kenneth King Foundation, we still need to raise $400,000 by year end. Your support of any amount will help us achieve our dream.
Please make a tax deductible donation today! You may go to http://www.mscenter.org/ to make a donation. Please specify the donation toward the KADEP Capital Campaign. You may also call 303-433-6887 or email hartman@mscenter.org if you are willing to help us make our dream come true!
Here are a few words from KADEP participant Rachelle Cardinal:
“I have been a client says the doors opened in 1991. I believe KADEP saved my life. It was at KADEP when I started fighting my MS. I used to think my body had given up on me, but KADEP won’t let that happen. It was at KADEP where I found the love and encouragement to not give up on myself and to know that my MS did not have me...There is no place like KADEP in the whole world. People understand you here and are willing to stand by you during your hardships. Most importantly it is the love and encouragement at KADEP and you can feel it when you walk through the door.”
Thank you so much for your continued support toward the KADEP Capital Campaign!

Sexuality, Relationships, and Communication Group
Pictured here are participants in the Sexuality, Relationships and Communication class led by MSW Chris Dunbar.
Throughout this 16 week class, men and women discuss sexuality topics related to ability, disability, multiple sclerosis, and brain injury. This is a great class to learn and share in a safe, supportive, comfortable environment.

Welcome Beth!
KADEP would like to give a big welcome to new staff member, Beth Winter!
Here is a little bit about Beth in her own words:
I am a Colorado native, recently graduated from METRO with a degree in therapeutic recreation. I enjoy swimming and going for walks with my daughter. In my free time I teach aquatic fitness classes at the Jewish Community Center. My daughter, Hunter, is two and a half years old. The journey that has brought me to this point in life started with me attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, where I was majoring in art. After three short semesters I decided Durango wasn’t the place for me and transferred to Metro where I continued my studies in business and ceramics. After which, I found the field of therapeutic recreation and excelled. Along the way I have completed two triathlons and many half marathons. My favorite new hobby is scrapbooking which I blame on my daughter. I am thrilled to be a part of the KADEP team and look forward to all the fun times ahead.

Halloween Party
- The Halloween Party was a huge success! The Interns made a scary breakfast with BOOnanas and green egg breakfast sandwiches.
- In the morning participants chose from Halloween Games, pumpkin carving, Halloween Crafts or a Scary movie.
- There was also a Haunted House. The Haunted House was very scary, yet humorous. The KADEP staff are great actors and comedians! The Haunted House was very well thought out and performed!
- In the afternoon a group of preschoolers came for a Costume Parade and trick or treating.
Thanks to all the staff and participants for coming on that snowy Friday!
There are lots more pictures of costumes on the Left hand side of this Blog under Halloween 10-30-09
KADEP Recipe Book
Calling all recipes!
Nick the intern here. I'm creating a very big KADEP cookbook for my special project and I need your help! If you have any recipes that you've either used or really like, and would like to see them in a cook book, bring them in. They will be added into my cook book and with a special thanks to you!
