Through Multiple Summits for MS, an annual summer fund-raising event, we encourage Colorado residents to take advantage of our beautiful mountain-scapes while raising funds for MS Center programs and services. In Colorado alone, there are more than 50 14ers (14,000 foot peaks), and anyone who has summited one will tell you that it is an unbeatable feat.
Each August, climbers of all skill levels are invited to join others in climbing one of Colorado’s 14ers. The month-long program will kick off with an exciting event at REI, which will bring involved community members together for fun and sun, and to demonstrate their support for each other and those with MS.
What We are doing At KADEP…
The Participants at KADEP will form a team, a team of climbers. We will travel the equivalency that a hiker would travel when climbing one of Colorado’s 14ers.
The Team will decide on a mountain, and as a group, we will walk or wheel the distance. The distance will be a cumulative amount composed by the team as a whole.
We would ask that Friends or Family members could sponsor the Participants. Sponsors may donate to the program in a one-time gift, or may decide to sponsor a climber for a set amount per mountain the team successfully climbs.
The minimum donation recommended is $14, and those participants will receive a T-shirt commemorating their contribution and the time spent together performing this feat.
The official start date is July 14, 2010. The KADEP team will not start our first mountain until the last week of July.
This is a great event and we encourage all KADEP participants and families to participate!
