Broadway Actress visits KADEP
Ordinary People Who
do Extra-ordinary Things.
In this group we talk about how everyday people
use their knowledge, talents and/or gifts to make a difference in the
world. Lately we have been talking about how laughter and music are
sometimes the best music - especially with all of the colds and flu right
now. Valerie Hill is a Broadway actress (currently living in Arvada), who
is currently performing in the Christmas show at the Arvada Center. Val
explained how she hopes her performances let people escape the everyday rat
race. She spoke with us about her "job duties" as an actress and then
performed three songs to everyone's delight.
Special thanks to Valerie and KADEP Volunteer, Dean Bernard, for running this fantastic group all semester long- What a treat!
Ski Trip Adventure in Breck
Despite the lack of now, the 10 KADEP participants had a memorable ski adventure in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Staff members, John and Debra, helped coordinate the trip along with the fantastic staff from the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC).
They stayed in a beautiful cabin and enjoyed meals, company, and activities. It was a great group, and we look forward to seeing BOEC again next winter!

Thank you Amanda
KADEP also said farewell to staff member, Amanda on Wed. Nov. 21st. We are thankful that Amanda will always be part of our KADEP Family. Amanda was the camping coordinator, RTD coordinator, and is an outstanding recreation therapist. She will be missed and we wish her the best in her newest adventures in the Colorado Mountains. Thank you for all your work and for sharing your inspiring energy at KADEP!
KADEP Thanksgiving
We have lots to be thankful for at KADEP. On Wed. November 21st, KADEP had their own version of a Thanksgiving Day Parade. We divided into groups and created our own themed floats. We ate a delicious Thanksgiving meal and ate as one big family in the gym. Special thanks to Rocky Mountain MS Center board members, staff, and volunteers that came to share our special day.
We continued the afternoon with the Thanksgiving day parade, pie, and tea.
We are thankful for you!
