MEET THE INTERNS

Hello KADEP!
My name is Katie and I have lived in Colorado for the last 13 years. I am currently a student at Metropolitan State University of Denver, working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation.  Most of my free time is spent doing recreation. I love to bike, hike, snow board, paint, and a variety of other things. I am so happy that I have been given the opportunity to intern at KADEP and hope that I can impact your lives the same way you impact mine.

Hello KADEP,

My name is Kody Elzinga and I am from Manistee, MI. I grew up in a small town and feel that this made me love the outdoors. I spend most of my free time on the trout stream or exploring new rivers and terrain. The rest of my time is spent outside climbing, paddling or just enjoying mother nature. So far I am loving CO and all of the recreational opportunities that it has to offer. My favorite season is winter, so I am looking forward to exploring the backcountry and “hitting the slopes”. I really enjoy meeting new people, so feel free to stop by the intern cubical anytime. I look forward to the rest of this semester with the KADEP team!

Helloooo KADEP! My name is Amanda and I am one of the 3 interns that are from Michigan. I grew up just North of Detroit and went to college on the other side of the state in Grand Rapids. I work at a camp in Texas during my summers where I facilitate activities like the high ropes course, kayaking, archery and many more! I love hiking and exploring the outdoors which is part of the reason I wound up here, in Colorado (the other reason is of course KADEP!) I really love to read, so if you have any book suggestions let me know! I will be running several programs here at KADEP until December. I’ve been having a wonderful semester thus far and can’t wait to see what the rest of my time here brings!

Hi everyone!! My name is Lesley Noll from Michigan, (the one with a cast on her foot)! I come from a great family and we all love sports! Go Michigan! I am loving Colorado and all the activities it brings, such as mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and soaking in the breathtaking views. I plan to stay out in Colorado after I finish my Rec Therapy internship here and I couldn’t be more excited! All Fall I will be running programs such as sit and stretch, spa treatment, memory making, and news to know. Thank you for all of the warm welcomes I received and I look forward to a great season at KADEP.
