The Rocky Mountain MS Center and the Kind Adult Day Enrichment Program (KADEP) are committed to keeping all participants, staff and visitors of the center safe. With that in mind the program has written policies and procedures to direct our actions based situations.
Lookout: A lockout is a situation where the perceived DANGER IS OUTSIDE of the building. All of the activity outside of the building is moved into the building and exterior doors are locked. Activity continues in a normal manner and Administrative personnel monitor the situation. Participants and staff are trained on this on semi- annual basis.
Lockdown: A lockdown is a situation where the perceived DANGER IS INSIDE or very near the building. In this instance a security alert is broadcast through the building, Participants and staff are trained to follow lockdown protocols on a semi annual basis. The expectation is that doors are locked and secured, lights are turned off, and everyone is moved to a secure location. Participants are encouraged to remain quiet. Emergency personnel or administrative personnel will release the participants and staff.
When we are in a LOCKOUT or LOCKIN situations we will send out an email to inform caregivers and we will also post on our Facebook Page & blog.
